Camp Staff

Men’s Camp Director – Steve Jones
Steve Jones is in his second year as HBU head soccer coach and will be entering his second year as camp director.  In 2007, Jones led his team into NCAA Division I competition after restarting the soccer program last season, competing as a member of the NAIA and the Red River Athletic Conference. In that first and final year of NAIA competition, the Huskies, who had not fielded a soccer team in 16 years, posted a record of 10-7-1 and an RRAC tournament runner-up finish. After that successful campaign, six Huskies received all-conference honors. Jones has coached collegiate teams to 15 playoff appearances, including four conference championships, four NAIA regional semifinal appearances, the NCCAA regional championship and an NCCAA national tournament appearance. He has been selected as conference coach of the year six times.

Women’s Camp Director – Misty Jones
Misty Jones is in her second year as head women’s soccer coach at Houston Baptist University and will be entering her first year as the women’s camp director. Last season she led the Huskies to a successful 11-6 campaign in the first season of HBU women’s soccer since 1987, coaching an all-America selection in Sara Faulkner and having five athletes receive all-conference honors. The Huskies finished that inaugural season as the fourth-place team in the Red River Athletic Conference and managed to stun their conference foes by finishing as the RRAC tournament runner-up, defeating top-seeded College of the Southwest 1-0 in the semifinals.

Assistant Men’s Camp Director – Dustin Norman
Dustin Norman will enter his first season as assistant men’s camp director and in his first season as assistant coach for the Huskies. Norman comes to HBU after serving two seasons at Mercer University and prior one season at Middle Georgia College as the assistant coach.  Dustin currently holds his NSCAA National Diploma.
